Dimitrios Papadimoulis with Leila Khaled and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP)

A meeting between Dimitrios Papadimoulis, Leila Khaled and the PFLP delegation took place at the European Parliament.

The Vice-President of EP and SYRIZA MEP Dimitrios Papadimoulis, member of GUE/NGL group, met Leila Khaled - activist with a historical role in the Palestinian Resistance, member of the PFLP and of the Palestinian National Council (PNC) as well.

Ms Khaled briefed Dimitrios Papadimoulis on the latest developments in Israel and Palestine, regarding the role of the EU in the Middle East.
Specifically, she expressed to Dimitrios Papadimoulis the desire for a European Intervention in order to stop for the escalating violence coming from the Israeli government side to come to an end on the part and to recognize the right of the Palestinian-refugees to return back to their country, according to the UN resolutions.

At the same time, Leila Khaled asked from Dimitrios Papadimoulis his support as Vice-President of EP and SYRIZA MEP, into broadening support for the Palestinian’s requests by the European Parliament, and discussed some specific ways to promote these objectives.

Dimitrios Papadimoulis thanked Leila Khaled for her visit and he expressed his strong support, on behalf of SYRIZA delegation, in order to enhance a peaceful process to the Palestinian issue and with that in mind to face these issues concerning basic human rights.
